Mission Training in English (MTE)

MTE is a vital, 2-semester, ENGLISH-ONLY program which further equips missionaries in three important ways:

[1] LINGUISTIC:
    A missionary needs to master Conversational English for the Mission Field:
      [a] English for Evangelism & complete discipleship,
      [b] English for cooperation with non-Koreans on International Mission Teams,
      [c] and for working in OTHER languages when English is a necessary "bridge"

[2] BIBLICAL:
    A missionary should know HOW TO USE & TEACH the Inductive Bible Study method in ENGLISH.
      [a] To make the missionary's own life more Christ-like
      [b] To prepare the nationals for Bible-based ministry
      [c] To help the nationals develop a contextualized, yet Biblical Theology which they will embrace as their own, rather than seeing the Gospel as "imported"

    A missionary should know HOW TO USE & TEACH Biblical Counseling in ENGLISH.
      [a] For spiritual growth & emotional health of new believers
      [b] For the integrity & emotional health of the missionary (you!)
      [c] For spiritual & emotional health of the missionary's family
      [d] For God-glorifying relationships with other missionaries
      [e] For resolving conflicts between missionaries

[3] CULTURAL:
    A missionary must be aware of how his own culture influences his thoughts, words & actions...
    He must be able to identify & appreciate the patterns of other cultures, and...
    He must be able to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ uncorrupted by his own cultural patterns.
